Emerald Ant is hosting this spectacular free family event. Over 350 fabulous river creatures have been created by over 500 people, mainly children in 5 local West Dorset schools. They have been dipping in their local rivers and chalk streams with ecologists, then working with our artists to create trout, salmon, bullhead fish, riverfly, dragonfly, kingfishers, swallows and much more.
Come and join the procession from Weir Playing Field in Nettlecombe at 6pm for a magical, lit, evening parade.
Just before we set off everyone will be invited to take one of the unique puppets and join the procession, whether you have made something or not. The procession will travel around the perimeter of the field, guided by our uplifting music, and there will be a short choreographed performance. We will all settle to enjoy the fire sculpture. A hog roast will be provided by the Weir Field Committee. A Pledge Zone will be run with West Dorset Wilding, to support river health. Wear blue!
