About this Event
Join us at Brunswick Fine Wines for an evening dedicated to Ridge Vineyards, one of California’s most respected and distinctive producers.
Ridge needs little introduction. In 1976, its 1971 Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon was selected to represent California at the now legendary Judgement of Paris tasting in Paris, where a panel of French judges blind-tasted California and Bordeaux wines. Ridge finished fifth on the day — but the story didn’t end there.
When the wines were revisited 30 years later in 2006, Ridge Monte Bello took first place, ahead of the great Bordeaux estates. It was a result that cemented Ridge’s reputation for producing California wines with not only character and precision, but extraordinary longevity.
For this tasting, we’ll explore a selection of Ridge wines spanning Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Zinfandel-led field blends and Cabernet Sauvignon, including some beautifully mature bottles.
The evening will be hosted by Andrew Meltzer of Berkmann Wine Cellars, Californian wine specialist and the host of our previous US tasting.
