Sunshine’s Brunch at the Bridge
Gather around the table for a cozy holiday morning of food, folklore, craftsmanship, and a little bit of magic.
Besom & Breakfast is the November edition of Sunshine’s Brunch at the Bridge, an intimate workshop series pairing beautiful food with local artisans, traditional skills, and experiences worth getting out of the house for.
We'll begin with a gourmet breakfast experience from Alex of With a Splash, giving everyone time to eat, settle in, and enjoy the company before we trade our forks for broomsticks.
Then Robin’s Nest Home & Hearth will guide you through the process of creating your own handwoven holiday besom. Along the way, we'll explore the history, folklore, symbolism, and magical traditions surrounding the broom, from an ordinary household tool to one of the most recognizable symbols of folk magic and witchcraft.
You'll choose materials and details to make your besom your own, learn the techniques behind its construction, and leave with a beautiful handcrafted piece ready to display, gift, or incorporate into your own traditions.
Your experience includes:
- A gourmet breakfast bar by With a Splash
- A guided besom-making workshop with Robin’s Nest Home & Hearth
- All materials needed to create your besom
- Folklore, history, symbolism & magical traditions of the broom
- Your completed handcrafted besom to take home
- Three hours to eat, create, learn, and connect in the historic Bridge Healing Arts Center
You don't need to practice witchcraft or have any crafting experience to join us. Besom & Breakfast lives somewhere between a holiday brunch, an artisan workshop, a history lesson, and a magical gathering. Come for whichever part calls to you.
