Brothers From Different Mothers deliver good vibes and danceable rhythms with their soulful, bluesy rock and roll. Guitarists Tim Hunter and Ian Weintraub had spent years as mutual admirers of each other's work when, in the summer of 2024, the opportunity presented itself for them to join forces to explore songwriting and music-making together. Quickly enlisting the exceptional talents of their long-time friends/musical collaborators Steven Bentley on the drums and Don Morris on the bass and vocals, Brothers From Different Mothers was born.
Supporting Tim's soulful vocals with three-part harmonies and tight arrangements, their performances showcase their own original music, along with well-loved classics from artists like The Allman Brothers Band, Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Band, Frank Zappa, Taj Mahal and many more.
The band has quickly found a small but loyal following in Olympia as they've gigged continually and audiences have become captivated by the often spontaneous interaction of the two guitarists. After seeing a recent performance, Chris Lunn of Victory Music wrote: "Tim and Ian work so well off each other, picking up little nuances from each other, propelling and building. It is quite something to see. It's like a revival show ~ playing off each others licks and moving, with Hunter dancing across the stage as Weintraub leans in pushing back. It's easy to see they are 100% into each others solos and creating off each other, like you were at the Chicago Blues Festival. These two are that good."
