Britten: Saint Nicolas & Haydn: Sancti NicolaiJoin Doncaster Choral Society for the opening concert of our 2026–27 season at Doncaster Minster, conducted by guest Music Director Chris Why.
Britten’s Saint Nicolas tells the story of the legendary life of Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, in a vivid and dramatic sequence of events. Alongside it, we perform Haydn’s Sancti Nicolai, a Mass originally written to honour St Nicholas Day – bringing together two very different musical celebrations of the same saint.
