Bringing Our Stories to Life

Join us for a fun evening of camaraderie, sharing stories, and creating art!
You don't have to have natural talent to make something meaningful - you'll be guided through easy-to-learn drawing techniques by professional artist, Paola Ferrario, (learn more about Paola below), using personal objects as your subject to create a piece that tells your unique story.
Light refreshments and all art materials will be provided. Opportunities to showcase your work will be discussed.
Paola Ferrario was born in Rho (Milan) Italy in 1963. She received an MFA from Yale University in 1988. Since then, she has completed narrative and documentary photographic projects in Italy, Guatemala, and the United States. Among her awards and fellowships are the Friends of Photography/Calumet Emerging Photographer award (2000), the Paul Taylor/Dorothea Lange Prize from Duke University (2001), a Puffin Foundation Grant (2003) and a Guggenheim Fellowship in Photography (2004). She is the author of “19 pictures 22 recipes” https://thelongestchapter.com/2011/12/31/19-pictures-22-recipes-paola-ferrario/. Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington, D.C, Smith College Museum of Art. She was the Harnish Visiting Artist at Smith College from 2005 to 2012 and then again in 2016. She currently lives in Holyoke MA.
