Brian Smalley, an acclaimed American guitar player and singer known for his engaging, story-driven style and fretboard knowledge. Brian is celebrated for his unique concept of the "Acoustic Novel". He blends intricate hybrid-picking guitar arrangements of old-time ragtime bluegrass jazz Americana rock pop (you name it) and folk opera to create theater-of-the-mind storytelling.
Born into a military family, Smalley moved across the country more than twenty times before he turned 18, which instilled a deep sense of wanderlust that influences his music.
He is based in Central Florida and performs frequently around the Southeast. His critically acclaimed "Acoustic Novels" include ChickensPigs, set in Civil War-era Florida, KEY, a fictional story set in the Florida Keys, and CHOSEN illuminating a dark world centered in the Florida sugar mill town of Belle Glade.
His live shows combine meaningful lyricism with stellar guitar arrangements, often leaving audiences laughing and crying in the same show.
