Humphreys Backstage Live is Shelter Island’s intimate waterfront lounge: marina views, a full bar, shareable plates, and happy-hour specials while the sun drops over the docks. It is the smaller, closer room next to the big Humphreys Concerts by the Bay stage — the kind of place where you can hear the band, dance if you want, and still grab a cocktail without losing the night to a festival crowd.
That is the setting for two hours of high-octane roots rock from Brian Jones Rock ’n’ Roll Revival. The Southern California band plays original songs written by Brian Jones and a deep-cut homage to the 1969 “27 Club” era — the electric-blues, back-to-basics spirit that ran through The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Hendrix, Joplin, and the Chicago and Delta players who lit the fuse: Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Elmore James. Expect Stones swagger, slide and boogie, and originals built for a live floor.
This is a happy-hour show, not just a seated concert. It’s a dance party! Doors energy starts at 5. Come early for drinks and a bite, stay for the set, and step onto the balcony if you want the boats and the breeze between songs. Free parking is available on the island and in the lot.
