About this Event
Breaking BREAD (Barriers, Roadblocks, Exclusion, and Disparities) invites families and people with autism to join us for a community-informed event shaped directly by feedback from those with lived experience. Our goal is to create a welcoming space to connect with one another, learn about helpful services or resources, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of fun activities.
During the event, attendees can enjoy:
• A dedicated space for:
○ Autistic children to enjoy fun activities, watch movies, and eat food
○ Autistic teens and young adults to play video and board games and hang out, or go outside to play in a fenced basketball court
○ Caregiver self-care station for rest and restoration
○ Caregivers and autistic self-advocates to sit outside
○ Everyone to receive information and resources from local organizations
• On-site childcare and behavior support is available during indoor activities or outdoor basketball for autistic children aged 5 - 15 years, giving families the flexibility to participate
• Stickers and small items with strength-based, inclusive messages
• A catered lunch for all registered attendees
This event reflects Breaking BREAD's commitment to reducing barriers, honoring lived experience, and creating spaces that foster belonging and joy for people with autism and their families. We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of connection, community, and fun!
