About this Event
Learn how to capture moments in everyday life with words and images in combination. We’ll begin with an overview of journal comics as a genre, what’s possible with the bite-sized daily format, and why it’s an art form Hallie has practiced for over a decade.
Then sketch your own diary comic for the day with Hallie’s guidance and company, and as we conclude, consider the ways you might continue making journal comics as part of your art practice.
The day of our class, students are encouraged to pay close attention from the moment they wake up — be on the lookout for what your comic might be!
No experience necessary. Materials provided.
This workshop is hosted by General Store, a project by Jon Flannery and Julia Lipovsky to nurture and inspire creative living.
