What can happen when we sit down with people we may not usually meet, listen to one another, and start with what we share?
Join former South Carolina Governor David Beasley and community members from across Utah for Breaking Bread Together: Finding Common Ground to Protect Children & Prevent Exploitation—a free gathering built around a shared meal, meaningful conversation, and a shared priority: the safety and well-being of children.
Young people and families are navigating a rapidly changing world shaped by technology, social media, artificial intelligence, pornography, online exploitation, trafficking, abuse, and other evolving risks. We may not agree on every cause or solution—but there is meaningful common ground from which we can begin.
Over lunch and facilitated conversations, you’ll have the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and sectors, hear perspectives you may not ordinarily encounter, share your own experience, and explore where Utah communities may be able to work together.
Your perspective is an important part of that conversation, and we hope you will join us.
Featuring David Beasley
Former South Carolina Governor David Beasley is a recipient of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award and former Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, where he accepted the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize on the organization’s behalf. His career has centered on bringing people together across political, cultural, religious, and ideological differences.
This is not a debate or political event, and you don’t need to be an expert or arrive with all the answers. Come with curiosity, your perspective, and a willingness to listen.
