How does culture shape mental health? Hear local stories, explore cultural perspectives and unwind with grounding activities and art.
About this Event

The Diversity and Inclusion Commission is pleased to introduce Cultural Connections, an event series celebrating the differences that make our community unique and creating opportunities to better understand and appreciate the many cultures and experiences represented in Elk Grove.

People connect through stories, and who better to hear from than members of our own community? Join us Wednesday, October 7, for a panel discussion exploring the cultural barriers and stigmas that can shape how people view mental health, seek support, receive a diagnosis and recognize when they may need help. Panelists will share their personal perspectives and experiences, offering an honest look at the ways culture can influence our understanding of mental health and care.

Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to participate in grounding activities and a guided art meditation led by a licensed art therapist.

Food will be available for purchase from Gondo Fusion Food Truck
