About this Event
Bread. Soup. Cake. is a monthly intergenerational space to gather with community members new and old, break bread, share stories, sing, and build relationships. This space is now intentionally centering Black foodways, stories, and music legacies. Honoring the cultural roots of what we eat, share, and sing together.
This is a Black queer-led space created with the intention to pour love back into our community and hold a space of belonging. The dinner flows into a song circle, where we lift our voices not as performance, but as practice, memory, and medicine. Uplifting the histories and traditions that live within the music.
This is a space to gather in joy, connection, grief, or whatever is present. Use this space to bring your people closer. Invite your auntie who doesn’t get out as much as she’d like. Tell your cousin moving through heartbreak. Welcome your coworker who recently moved here and hasn’t yet found their people.
Come for dinner, for singing, or both. There is no one right way to be here. This is a place to arrive as you are and build together.
If cost is a barrier, you’re welcome to contribute in other ways. These dinners take a lot of love and labor to host, and we would be deeply grateful for support with:
