About this Event
This is a workshop for those who have been sexually assaulted. All are welcome to join in this workshop!
We will be focusing on how to find your voice again. To learn who you truly are, without the noise of those voices that are not yours. To re-learn your worthiness and know that you have the potential for happiness and love. This will be a workshop that will consist of journaling, sharing, yoga, somatic exercises, and creativity to help those who have been sexually abused/assaulted find their voices again.
Our self-worth is taken away from us when another person overpowers us and destroys who we are. This workshop will plant the seed to remember that YOU matter, that YOU are someone, and that YOU play a part in this life. Your existence matters.
This workshop is designed for survivors of sexual assault to help them reclaim their sense of self and worthiness. Participants will focus on rediscovering their voice and identity through activities like journaling, sharing, yoga, somatic exercises, and creative expression. The workshop is open to all and is offered on a sliding scale of $15-$50. The goal is to remind survivors that they matter and have the potential for happiness and love.

About Heather
Heather Ding is a seasoned yoga student who has been teaching yoga for a little over 5 years. Yoga found her exactly when she needed it! She received her 200 hr certification in 2019 from Almaden Yoga with Anuja Chaudri and Nate Jones. She will be completing her 300 hr certification in the year 2024. She completed the advanced certification for trauma-informed yoga through Collective Resilience Yoga under Hala Khouri, Kyra Haglund, and RW Alves in 2021. She is now calling this class “Coming Home Embodiment Work”, which includes not only yoga and meditation, but other modalities such as journaling, somatic movement, energy work, mantras, mudras, and more. She believes that healing is community work and invites questions, inquiries, and laughter into class. Each class is unique as we move through the “topic of the month” and you will be left feeling more in tune with body and mind. She hopes that you will grow deeper in love with exactly who you are now.
She has worked with The Art of Yoga Project from 2019-2020. She has logged in over 30 volunteer hours and has been named volunteer of the year 2020 with San Jose Library/Edenvale Branch. Receiving her Laughter Yoga certification in 2021, she hopes to bring more “childlike play” back into your life.
About Jiaren Yoga
Jiaren Yoga’s mission is to empower women and promote wellbeing by providing a nurturing environment to feel their body and mind. We welcome all genders and all colors of the rainbow!
A yoga practice is a chance to get rooted in who we are without being overwhelmed by the outside noise and today’s technological overload. This allows us to realize that our perspective on life is valued and beautiful in all of its complexity. Yoga helps us quiet our minds, open our hearts, and treat ourselves as sacred, opening pathways for comfort, expression, and awareness.
We love to share the life-changing practice of yoga with students in search of discovery, transformation, healing, and growth.
