Join the D.C. Alumni Network at Alexandria Bier Garden for Brains & Brews: Alumni Edition, an engaging evening that highlights the incredible work of UNCG alumni in your community. This installment features Dr. Allison Ward Parsons ’06 MEd, Professor at George Mason University, who will share a 20–30 minute talk titled “Monopoly, Memory, and Literacy: The Science Behind Family Game Night” in which she will discuss the connections between reading and executive functioning skills and how families can support executive functioning (EF) skill development at home through games. It’s a great opportunity to learn something new while celebrating the impact Spartans are making in their fields.
Before and after the talk, enjoy plenty of time to connect with fellow alumni over drinks, light bites, and great conversation. We’ll also have UNCG swag on hand to show your Spartan pride. Whether you’re coming for the talk, the networking, or just a casual night out with fellow alumni, this event is the perfect blend of learning and socializing.
