The Word on the Street is Toronto’s annual celebration of literacy and Canadian Writing. This festival is a free, weekend-long event featuring author meet-and-greets, public readings, and a whole laneway of activities designed to engage and encourage kids to pursue lifelong learning in language, STEM, and more! Come join Brain Power on Kids’ Street as we lead creative writing mini-workshops and offer games and prizes for anyone who drops by! Students of all ages are encouraged to join. The Word on the Street takes place in David Pecaut Square and runs from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

Workshops: Brain Power is excited to host mini creative writing workshops at The Word on the Street’s Kids Street! Join us from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday for a dynamic writing experience.
Each 15-minute drop-in workshop will explore storytelling techniques like Freytag’s Pyramid and Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, with feedback and workshopping from an instructor!
