About this Event
Class Description
This class is for people with no previous ceramic or art experience, as well as those with some experience. All pieces and techniques can be done with or without art knowledge or experience.
A variety of techniques and materials are explored including: centering, pulling, forming, trimming, underglazes, glazes, mixing different clays in one piece, and other techniques. Small pieces, larger pieces and asymmetrical works of bowls, cups, mugs, vases, plates and more are part of this class. Pieces include both food safe and decorative pieces.
Creating pieces that are taught in the class, as well as building pieces that the students are inspired by are both celebrated in this class. Individual character and style are encouraged. Bringing your own background, culture and knowledge to the class is encouraged for a richer experience in creating your artworks as well as sharing with others in the class.
There is an opportunity in December to showcase your works in a student showcase and invite family for the gallery show!
