The October long weekend (3rd and 4th) is nestled right in the middle of spring holidays and so is the annual Bouddi Peninsula Art Trail. This event has become a staple for visitors to the Central Coast. This year 24 local artists from Killcare Heights through to Wagstaffe, NSW, open their art studios, workshops and homes to the art curious.
The annual Bouddi Peninsula Arts Trail is a unique way to meet these accomplished artists. See how artists work by stepping into their studios. Each artist’s location is an informal gallery where visitors can learn about how works of art are created. It’s an opportunity to chat with them about what inspires their works. And for many, the inspiration is right there in the surrounding Bouddi National Park with its tranquil bays, surf, beaches, park trails and stunning flora and fauna.
With two days to explore, the Arts Trail is an opportunity to discover art and the Bouddi Peninsula – there’s something for everyone.
The Bouddi Peninsula is located just 90 minutes from Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. Once there, meander from Killcare Heights and Killcare, down to Hardy's Bay, around the bend to Pretty Beach and Wagstaff and find unique creations, including watercolour, oil and acrylic painting, photography, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, and drawings. A perfect opportunity to find a work of art which just fits that special space in your home.
Armed with a Bouddi Peninsula Arts Trail map, locate open studios displaying a red flag. Plan a day, or two,visiting the studios and recharge at local cafes, restaurants and shops. And after a day of art, just relax and enjoy the beautiful peninsula.
