Silk Scarf Botanical Dyeing Workshop
Morning & Evening Sessions (3 hours)
Discover the beauty of natural colour in this hands‑on botanical dyeing workshop. Over three creative hours, you’ll explore plant‑based pigments and learn how to transform silk into two unique handmade pieces: a naturally dyed long scarf and a small festive silk decoration.
What to Expect
Silk Scarf Botanical Dyeing
You’ll begin by arranging flowers, petals, leaves, and/or dry vegitable onto a pure silk scarf. Using the bundle‑dyeing method, you’ll create organic patterns that emerge as the colours release and blend. This process is wonderfully unpredictable, making every scarf completely one‑of‑a‑kind.
Steaming & Silk Christmas Decoration
While your scarf steams to set the colours, you’ll create a silk Christmas decoration using simple stitching and botanical painting techniques. This small seasonal piece makes a charming addition to festive décor or a thoughtful handmade gift.
Unwrapping
Once the steaming is complete, you’ll unwrap your scarf bundle to reveal your botanical print. The reveal is always a highlight — the colours, shapes, and textures created by the plants are full of surprises.
