Find your place at Botanica! 🌱Want to get more involved at Botanica, meet new people, and help our gardens, programs, and events grow? Join us for our Volunteer Fair and discover the many ways you can make a difference at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens!
Representatives from departments throughout Botanica will be available to share information about volunteer opportunities, answer questions, and help you find a position that fits your interests.
Volunteer opportunities include:
🌿 Horticulture: Help our gardens thrive through planting, weeding, mulching and other garden maintenance tasks.
🌻 Adult Education: Become a Garden Ambassador and grow and share your knowledge by giving garden tours and staffing plant knowledge information booths at Botanica events.
🦋 Youth Education: Assist with field trips and youth education events.
🎉 Special Events: Help bring Botanica's events to life, primarily during evenings and weekends. Opportunities may include greeting guests, wayfinding, concession support and more.
🎠 Carousel: Assist with carousel token sales and other carousel needs, typically surrounding special events.
🤝 Volunteer Groups: Representatives from corporate and community groups can connect with our Development team to discuss potential group volunteer dates and projects.
🌺 Guest Services: Help welcome and assist guests throughout the gardens, including opportunities in admissions and the Gift Shop.
🚂 Train Garden: Become a train operator and help operate the G-scale model train in our Gene Spear Train Garden.
Botanica Pistils will also be at the fair! This community of Botanica supporters is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities through plant-based learning and community engagement. Pistils champions volunteering at Botanica and will be available to provide information and help facilitate memberships.
We’ll have snacks available during the event, plus a special raffle! New volunteers who sign up at the fair will be entered into the raffle. Existing volunteers can also participate by bringing a friend who signs up to become a new volunteer.
