About this Event
Got something broken that you can't bear to throw away? Bring it in. Boston Building Resources and the City of Boston are teaming up to host a free — a community repair event where volunteer fixers roll up their sleeves and help you figure out what's wrong with your broken stuff. No lecture, no class structure. Just neighbors helping neighbors keep things out of the landfill.
How It Works
Walk in with your broken item. You'll be matched with a volunteer fixer — someone with hands-on experience in electronics, small appliances, clothing, housewares, and more — who will work alongside you to diagnose the problem and attempt a repair. Even if the item can't be fixed on the spot, you'll leave with a better understanding of what happened and what your options are.
What to Bring
- A broken gadget, small appliance, computer, toy, textile good, or other item
- Useful tools and parts, if you have them
- A description of what’s wrong and anything you’ve tried to fix it—advance online research is helpful
- A desire to learn and share your knowledge!
- to ensure you have a spot with the coaches!
Who This Is For
Everyone. Whether you've never opened up a broken device in your life or you just want a second set of expert eyes, this event is for you. It's free, welcoming, and open to the whole community.
Want to Be a Fixer?
If you're handy with electronics, sewing, small appliances, bikes, or just about anything else that breaks, we'd love your help. Volunteer fixers — called coaches — are the heart of every Fixit Clinic. You don't need to fix everything; you just need to be willing to dig in alongside someone and share what you know.
