About this Event
Raoul is a Toronto-based, award-winning multidisciplinary dancer, choreographer, educator, and street dance artist. With an extensive background in House, Hip Hop, and vernacular Jazz, Raoul has spent years studying, performing, teaching, and exploring the connections between these forms and their cultural histories.
He is a co-founder of The Moon Runners dance crew and a member of the Dora Award-winning Holla Jazz, while also serving as dance faculty at Toronto Metropolitan University. Raoul has performed nationally and internationally, represented Canada in battle competitions, and continues to mentor dancers and share knowledge around the roots and historical context of street and vernacular dance forms.
A lifelong student of dance, Raoul brings together musicality, history, individuality, and movement in his approach to teaching and performance, guided by the philosophy: “See the music, hear the dance.”
