BOOMBOX returns [SAT.10/3] with extra special guests FATLIP of The Pharcyde [DJ Set] + Bay Area heavy-hitter CUTSO!!

An undisputed hip hop legend, FATLIP joined iconic west coast hip hop outfit The Pharcyde in 1989. In 1992 their debut album "Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde" shook up the hip hop landscape with classics like "Passin' Me By" and "Ya Mama". Their critically acclaimed 1995 follow-up, "Labcabincalifornia" featured some of the earliest production work from the late, great J Dilla, including hits like "Runnin" and "Drop". Still working to this day, The Pharcyde has cemented their place as one of hip hop's most beloved groups. In recent years FATLIP has rekindled his love of DJing. His roots as a dancer are front and center as his natural ear for selection and beats show why he's at the top of our short list of MCs that truly throw down on the turntables. We couldn't be more hyped to welcome Lip back for another exclusive journey through his crates!

Simply put, Bay Area icon CUTSO can legitimately do it all. The 30 year DJ/producer veteran's accomplished everything from winning DMC + ITF battles with his crew The Bangerz, to producing the soundtrack to The Jabbawockeez Las Vegas residency + a full EP with Lyrics Born, all while crafting some of the most creative edits/remixes in the game and maintaining his status as one of the Bay's most in-demand party-rockers. Recently he's somehow found the time to establish the "First WAV Preservation Society", his own DJ/production education program AND start his weekly "Culture Shock" mixshow on LL Cool J's "Rock The Bells Radio" on SiriusXM. Since September 2nd, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers.
