About this Event
As part of boom saloon x A&DS, Calling boom saloon asks: what materials will save the buildings of the future, and who controls the natural world they come from?
From Athens and Mexico City, two practices approach that question from very different ground. Lilian Emvaloti of Studio Athina and 'Tatiana Bilbao of Tatiana Bilbao Estudio' open the evening in a pre-recorded conversation with boom saloon member Graeme DeBrincat and Jude Barber, considering how materials, land and resources shape what we build and who decides.
The conversation then moves to a live call, where Edinburgh practitioners Peter Holmes, Lisa Simpson and Elma Charalampidou respond with their own perspectives. Audience members are invited to text in their questions, which will be put to the call in real time.
The evening closes in the room, as the Edinburgh contributors join the audience in person to continue the discussion.
Free for boom saloon members. General admission £10 for non-members.
Presented by boom saloon in collaboration with A&DS.
