Get Your Numbers Right for the New Year
You know how to run a job. But if your books are a shoebox of receipts and your taxes are a once-a-year scramble, you’re probably leaving money on the table and taking on risk you don’t need.
The Midlands Trade Association is kicking off the year with a working session built for trade business owners who want to start the year organized, understand their numbers, and walk into tax season prepared instead of panicked. No sales pitch, no accounting lecture. Just straight answers from people who do this every day.
What you’ll get:
Main Session: Getting Your Financial House in Order
What a trade business owner actually needs to track, the bookkeeping mistakes that cost contractors the most, and what to have ready before you meet with your tax preparer. We’ll cover what matters for a local trade business and what you can stop worrying about.
Three Breakout Sessions
After the main session, you’ll rotate through small-group breakouts with local CPAs and bookkeepers where you can ask specific questions about your own business. Example topics could include:
- Bookkeeping systems and job costing that work for the trades
- Tax planning, deductions, and year-end moves for contractors
- Payroll, subcontractors, 1099s, and staying compliant
