About this Event
Jen Stout and Sara Wheeler discuss and compare the practicalities of foreign news reporting in the 1950s and today. For her recent biography of Jan Morris Wheeler trawled the archives of The Times and the Guardian: Morris was a correspondent in the Middle East in the fifties, breaking the story of Suez collusion. Stout reflects on her experiences filing frontline dispatches from the current conflict in Ukraine and writing the prizewinning Night Train to Odesa.
