Join me in Sibiu to launch my academic book, *Resilient Daughters of the Danube Delta: Women, Human Security, and Environmental Change*, published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in 2026!
This book grew out of my Fulbright research in Romania and my deep connection with the women of Sfântu Gheorghe, a small, isolated community where the Danube meets the Black Sea.
Through their life stories, the book explores how women sustain families and communities through environmental change, economic uncertainty, migration, and aging. Their experiences reveal the often-unrecognized importance of women's labor, care, ecological knowledge, and cultural traditions in everyday human security.
The book also introduces a new **Gendered Human Security Framework**, challenging us to rethink security through the experiences of women whose contributions are essential but too often overlooked.
I am delighted to introduce the book during the **HSTAPA 2026 International Conference on Human Security**, hosted in Sibiu by the Laboratory for Human Security Analysis.
I look forward to sharing the story behind this research, discussing its contributions to human and gender security, and celebrating the remarkable women whose voices inspired it.
