When an old oak tree falls during a storm and is quickly removed by a township crew, a fatherless young squirrel and his fellow woodland creatures seek the counsel of a wise caged parrot as to where their protector tree's soul has gone. Not getting the answers he’s looking for, the impressionable young Augie sets off on a quest to find the father he has never known, while Blue Parrot begins to question the wisdom he has learned from decades of captivity in his professor’s cottage.
