Book Flood

Iceland has a lovely tradition called Jólabókaflóðið* (yo-la-BOH-ka-flowth), which loosely translates to "yule book flood." Long-story-short: Families exchange books on Christmas Eve and spend the evening reading quietly while drinking hot cocoa, coffee, or Christmas beer.

We've rented a super lovely venue in downtown Wentzville, and we're creating our own version of a book flood.

Here's how it'll work:

1. Everyone who participates will create a gift registry on Double Dog's website. I'll email directions to you, but it's super easy!
2. I'll pair you with a book flood buddy, and the two of you will purchase two books for each other, wrap 'em up, and bring them to the venue. (I'll email you a 10% off coupon you can use at Double Dog.)
3. OPTIONAL: Bring up to three gently loved books for a book swap.
4. We'll exchange books, hang out, read (if you wanna), work on puzzles together (again, if you wanna), and generally just chill and enjoy one another's company. This is a come-as-you-are situation, not a dress-in-your-finest situation.

Here's what's included with your reservation:

1. Food. (I make an epic grazing table.)
2. Non-alcoholic beverages. (Totally fine to bring your own yes-alcoholic beverages.)
3. A free libro.fm audio book credit.
4. Great company.
5. A breather from what tends to be a hectic season.

And you'll walk away with up to six books: two new ones from your book flood buddy, one from libro.fm, and up to three new-to-you titles from the book swap!
