In this class, you’ll learn how to transform a well‑loved paperback into a sturdy, beautifully crafted hardback, with extra little details to make your favourite book feel completely unique and special.Bring a well-loved paperback and rebind it into a gorgeous hardback, adding details such as patterned paper, decorative end bands and ribbon bookmark. This class add extra details and additional techniques on top of our other casebinding class, such as an Oxford hollow for a flexible spine, a sunken label well for the title, and a painted foredge for a gorgeous decorative touch.
This workshop is designed for beginners, but it's also ideal if you’ve already enjoyed our casebinding class and want to add to your bookbinding skillset. If you have a sentimental paperback that deserves something a bit more special, this is the class for you! You'll be guided through every step by Wendy, owner of The Little Craftery, and life-long crafter.
You’ll leave with a completely re‑bound hardback book, made by you from start to finish — and the confidence to rebind more of your own books at home.
All materials are provided, with the exception of the paperback you’d like to transform.
