About this Event
Inviting all 18+ 2SLGBTQ+ folks to celebrate the power of your sensuality, body, and performance style! Get tips and advice on how to make burlesque an empowering act of self-expression and love.
This is a two-day burlesque dance workshop with actress, writer, curator and performer on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1 from 10 am to 1 pm at The 519. Participants are asked to come to both days. Dainty Smith (she/her) is the founder of Les Femmes Fatales: Women and Femmes of Colour Burlesque.
Look forward to learning both general tips and original choreography. Bring low/wearable heels, and wear clothes you can dance and move in. Feel free to bring props like gloves, fans, or boas.
This event extends a special invitation to BIPOC 2SLGBTQ+ folks, but nobody will be turned away. This class has space for 20 people and is $20 + tax. RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be provided.
