BOP STOP is excited to welcome back Bobby Selvaggio’s Hope Project on December 11. The show tonight will be an interactive experience that invites meaningful engagement between musicians and audience members.Hope is commonly defined as the confident belief, expectation, or desire that positive outcomes are possible. Yet hope is more than a passive feeling; it is an active mindset, a catalyst for personal agency, and a force that motivates individuals and communities to envision and pursue a better future. In this sense, hope has the capacity to inspire transformation, both within ourselves and in the world around us.
For this project, Bobby has selected and composed original works that explore themes of hope as they relate to his own perspective and experiences. Some pieces reflect a personal commitment to viewing the world through a hopeful lens, while others respond to significant events that have shaped his understanding of hope, its absence, and its necessity. Together, these compositions serve as musical reflections on resilience, possibility, and human connection.
Audience members who wish to participate will be invited to share their own expressions of hope, without agenda or expectation beyond their individual experiences and aspirations. Reflections may be written, offered verbally following a performance, or shared at any point throughout the evening.
The goal of this project is to create a collective experience centered on the power of hope. Through music, dialogue, and shared reflection, we seek to foster a sense of community and deepen our understanding of how hope informs our lives, connects us to one another, and inspires meaningful change.
