Bob Hendricks was the absolute best husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He was a 2x Ironman, an Ultra marathon runner and triathlete. Bob was as humble and generous as them come and will be immensely missed, always. With absolutely no preexisting health conditions, Bob was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2025 and passed away in March 2025, only 4 weeks after diagnosis.
This race is looking to honor Bob's memory by doing what he loved to do most -- running (or walking) and also raising funds to donate to Project Purple (projectpurple.org) to fund research to identify successful treatments for a wider range of people (currently the 5 year survival rate is only 13%), early/widespread screenings (currently do not exist), and maximize patient and family assistance.
