About this Event
This isn't your average board game night. Madeline and Ollie, the minds behind BoardBrains, pick the games and lead the teach, so you can just show up and be present. No experience needed, no homework, no pressure to know the rules going in.
We start by learning a game together, then we play. Most nights lean toward beginner/intermediate-friendly picks, so whether you've played hundreds of games or none at all, you'll find your footing fast.
Here's the part that makes it different: we don't just pack up when the game ends. We linger, break into small groups, and talk about what came up. How we handled conflict. How we approached people we'd just met. What it felt like to compete, or cooperate, or say no. Board games are a strange little mirror for how we operate in life, and we like to actually look in it.
This is for you if:
- You like games but love people more
- You're curious about yourself and how you show up under pressure, playfulness, or connection
- You want a low-key way to meet people in Manchester without small talk being the whole night
- You've ever wondered what your tabletop strategy says about you (it says something)
Grab a seat at the table. Sober bar, good company, unexpectedly deep conversation.
