Join your Queer community to explore the Vernal/Spring Equinox & write to seasonal prompts, with time also for sharing & connection.
About this Event

In this Queer generative writing workshop, we will focus on grounding into the season of the Vernal/Spring Equinox & taking cues from nature to check in with our writing lives. This workshop will give writers an opportunity to slow down & get in tune with themselves, their environments, & each other. Expect a contemplative, reflective, & meditative environment, quiet & dedicated time to write to optional prompts, & open time for sharing & connecting.

__________________________

Advance registration is required via Eventbrite only, due to space limitations and to ensure everyone is supplied with workshop materials. Feel free to message us on Eventbrite if you'd like to be added to a waitlist and please do let us know and/or cancel your registration if plans change and you are no longer able to attend to open up the spot for someone else.

Masks required and extra provided. We will meet in the Baltimore Free School of Red Emma's, which is located down the stairs towards the back of the cafe from the main entrance. The ADA accessible entrance is located at the back of Red Emma’s, facing Brentwood Ave. There is an ADA-accessible ramp leading into the Free School, as well as an ADA-accessible bathroom.

About us: We are a group serving as mutual aid for Baltimore’s Queer community with free poetry events. ✨All levels of engagement with poetry welcome and encouraged ✨From those who have never read or written a poem before to those who read or write prolifically to those who have stepped away from poetry and want to return.
We are a non-hierarchical mutual aid group whose intent is to provide community care, revitalization, resilience, and inspiration to Baltimore’s Queer community through the art of poetry. As Lucille Clifton said, “Poetry is a matter of life, not just a matter or language.”
This is a group whose members support collective liberation for all oppressed groups everywhere. Members take an active role in their community, especially as it pertains to centering and uplifting BIPOC communities & voices in Baltimore & beyond.
