BMA Skills Clinic - Intermediate-to-Advanced Trail Riding Techniques Practice getting up, over and down natural trail features like rocks, roots, logs, and drops.
About this Event

WHO THIS CLINIC IS FOR

You’ve been mountain biking long enough to be comfortable on singletrack trails. You know how to shift and brake and are comfortable at a trail area like Betasso. You want to level-up your technical skills and confidence by practicing getting up, over and down natural trail features like rocks, roots, logs, and drops.

DESCRIPTION

Living in Colorado, it seems we’re always going up or downhill. In this clinic for more experienced riders, you will continue to find ways to improve your riding. We will spend the beginning of the class reviewing Foundation skills and then apply these skills to navigating features on the West Magnolia trails in Nederland.

  • Navigate roots, logs, and rocks in both directions
  • Perform wheel lifts for clearing obstacles
  • Apply climbing and descending techniques
  • Roll down large drops and land air-off drops
  • Dismount while climbing or descending
  • Cornering on flat to steep loose and rocky terrain
  • Reading the trail to make effective tactical decisions and improve flow

This is an intermediate class.

Maximum 6 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!

Clinic meets at the Observatory trailhead at West Magnolia (39.9468157,-105.518013). From the Peak to Peak highway, turn west at Magnolia road and follow Haul Rd for 1 mile. The parking lot will be on the left.

Start Time: 9 am (please be there at 8:45 am to allow ample prep time)

Bring a lunch and snacks to get you through 5 hours of riding.
