Welcome to the Blvck Migrant Convening!
Blvck Migrant Convening III is a free, daylong community summit hosted by the African Bureau for Immigration and Social Affairs (ABISA) on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 8AM–5PM at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. Under the theme "Power, Protection, Progress: Rising Together Through Care and Repair," the Convening responds to this year's volatile immigration climate, reflecting our community's commitment to care, protection, and forward movement.
The program features two plenary sessions and six breakout workshops covering grassroots leadership, legal preparedness, community healing, and civic advocacy. Every breakout closes with a concrete policy recommendation and participant commitments, turning dialogue into sustained action. Young leaders are centered throughout as moderators and speakers.
BMC3 brings together organizers, legal advocates, healers, elected officials, and community members to build power, strengthen protection, and drive progress for Blvck migrant communities — now and for the next 250 years.
Lunch will be provided, with both meat and vegetarian options available.
