For anyone who sings—or wants to sing—this workshop is a welcoming introduction to the exciting world of bluegrass harmony. No prior experience is necessary! In this relaxed and incredibly fun session, you’ll explore close harmony bluegrass singing and learn how it differs from the styles you may have encountered in choirs or church. You’ll try out each of the three harmony parts in a bluegrass trio (lead, tenor, and baritone) and practice arranging them based on vocal ranges and keys. Together, we’ll explore how to arrange harmonies for mixed voices and discover the secrets of finding harmony parts on the fly at a jam session. All ages welcome—just bring yourself, your voice, and a friend (or two) to share the fun! Don’t worry about preparing in advance! All materials will be provided during the workshop.
Special note: If you attended this workshop earlier this year, Bill will focus on a new tune and different arranging techniques for both male and female singers.
