On Thursday, December 3, we explore what a regenerative future could look like together with experts from the LDE Centre for Sustainability.
About this Event

What does a regenerative future look like in practice? How do we create systems that give back more to people, nature, and communities than they take? For the winter edition of our Townhall, we take air as a symbol for creating space: space to breathe, look ahead and imagine new possibilities. On Thursday, December 3, we explore what a regenerative future could look like together with experts from the LDE Centre for Sustainability - who will launch their new whitepaper on regeneration - and pioneers from the BlueCity ecosystem. Together we will explore how relationships and collaboration are key in accelerating the transition towards a better future for all.

In recent years, the concept of regeneration has gained significant popularity. Across different fields such as agriculture, nature conservation, architecture, urban development, business and design, regeneration seems to be the new buzz word. But what does regeneration add to existing concepts such as sustainability and circularity? Is it a new methodology, a design principle? And most importantly, how do we translate regenerative principles into practice?

For this special edition of the Townhall we partnered up with LDE Centre for Sustainability who will launch their new whitepaper on regeneration. This paper is the outcome of a co-creation session, where researchers, entrepreneurs, policy makers explored how regenerative principles are already being applied across different sectors and disciplines, and what these examples can teach us about building societies that restore rather than deplete ecosystems and societies.

Rather than offering a definitive answer, the whitepaper is an invitation to deepen collaboration and continue exploring what regeneration can mean in practice. During this Townhall, pioneers from the BlueCity ecosystem will share their practical experiences, challenges, and learnings.
