About this Event
The holidays! The happiest time of the year!
Not for all of us.
Blue Christmas Prayer Service
Dec. 12, Saturday | 9-10:30 a.m.
Some of us who have lost a child, parent, grandparent or other loved one during the past year. They know there will be an empty chair at the Christmas dinner table.
Some of us suffer from illness, addiction, or estrangement. Some are lonely, struggling financially, or in conflict with another. Some hurt because of the great pain, need, and violence in our nation and world.
The Blue Christmas Prayer Service is a chance to be with others who need support now. Through prayer, music, and reflection, together we will take a step toward healing and new hope.
We gather in the midst of suffering to remember God is good. God is strong. God is near.
The service won’t provide neat answers for why suffering occurs, but by allowing God to enter our pain, we can receive the ultimate message of Christmas: Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.
