Blue is a powerful historical drama set in 1944 during World War II and inspired by the real-life polio epidemic that affected Hickory, North Carolina. Through the eyes of young Ann Fay Honeycutt, the story explores family, friendship, resilience, and the challenges communities faced during a time of uncertainty. Against the backdrop of segregation in the American South, the story examines how fear, prejudice, and division impacted daily life while highlighting moments of compassion, courage, and hope. Rich in local history, Blue offers an inspiring look at a community coming together in the face of adversity.
