BLU is a Business Community that helps its members grow through Networking & Knowledge Sharing. BLU has 6 chapters around Charlotte: Southpark, Ballantyne, Gaston County, Lake Norman, Concord, & Uptown.
The Uptown Chapter is BLU's connector chapter in the middle of all it's other locations and has a much different meeting structure than the rest.
At BLU Uptown, we focus on mutual problem-solving and value-creation in rotating groups of 4. Between open networking and the breakout sessions, we can guarantee that you will have in-depth conversations with at least 10 people every single meeting.
At the beginning of every meeting, we give attendees useful tools and frameworks to get the most out of each breakout session, but the flow of the conversation is up to each individual group.
This meeting structure is completely unique to any other networking groups you will find in Charlotte. It's more structured than an open networking coffee or happy hour but much more engaging and interactive than the classroom-style meetings you will find at other large networking organizations.
We respectfully request that that you check in by at least 10:45am to give the leadership time to prepare the meeting.
We would like to thank the Tipsy Pickle for allowing us to use their mezzanine space at 10:30a on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. As a courtesy to our hosts, please do not bring outside food or drinks to our meetings. Fantastic coffee, breakfast, lunch & alcohol are all available to order directly to your seat.

Info: The chapter leadership will explain structure of the chapter meeting as well as share useful tools & frameworks to get the most out of the meeting. Guests will be given an opportunity to BRIEFLY introduce themselves to the group.

3 Breakout Sessions
Info: The breakout sessions are where the magic happens. We put each person in rotating groups of 4 where we will help each other to solve problems and create value.

Gratitude, announcements, events, and closing remarks
Info: We want to make sure we take time out for attendees to give thanks and credit in front of the whole group when a fellow teammate has offered good advice or a good connection. We will also share important news, upcoming events, and next steps.

Open Networking
Info: Finish great conversations from the breakout sessions, schedule follow up 1 to 1 meetings, and meet some people who weren't at your group. We recommend that you make sure you spend at least at total of 20-30 minutes doing open networking (combined pre and post meeting) to get the most out of your time at BLU Uptown.
