About this Event

Be a Champion for Native Species!

BLPA Volunteers have worked hard all year and we're down to our final work party of the year.

We will be working on two sites this day.

  1. "Big Island" restoration site - the site was recently planted two weeks ago. Janette will lead volunteers to remove any invasives that have crept in around recent plantings to ensure they have the best chance of success. Further invasive removal around the site and placement of weedcloth in the back area if it has been mowed down by Metro Vancouver.
If completed early, we will move to continue maintenance of the site that was planted in October 2025 as well as the Nature House back yard.
  2. Butterfly Garden - Michelle will lead volunteers to prepare the garden for winter and wildlife as well as a general tidy up to ensure the paths are clear for our annual Holiday Open House on December 6.
See below if you're interested in learning more about how to prepare gardens for biodiversity.

We will meet at the Nature House.

Tools and training will be provided.

This event will be for a limited number of volunteers.
