About this Event
Build your own wooden box, get creative with real woodworking tools, and leave with something beautiful that you made yourself!
This isn’t your typical craft class! At the Southwest School of Woodworking, you’ll step into a real woodworking shop and learn how to create your own wooden Bloom Box from start to finish.
With guidance from our experienced instructors, you’ll use professional woodworking tools, learn new skills, and add your own personal touches to make your box truly one of a kind.
What You’ll Learn & Create
* Table Saw: Learn how to make finger joints to connect the sides of your box.
* Router Table: Shape and design your wooden lid.
* Drill Press: Drill the hole for your decorative knob.
* Belt Sander: Smooth and prepare your wood for finishing.
* Wood Burning: Add your own designs, initials, or special message.
* Assembly & Finishing: Glue, clamp, assemble, and finish your box.
* Personalize It: Choose from a variety of unique decorative knobs to give your box its own personality.
Want to Add Some Flowers?
Make it a Bloom Box!
The woodworking workshop is a complete class on its own, but you can take your creation one step further by adding our optional Fresh Flower Arranging Experience when purchasing your ticket.
In this additional class, you’ll learn how to arrange beautiful fresh flowers inside the wooden box you just built, creating a centerpiece that’s completely your own.
Two creative experiences, one beautiful project!
A Box With More Than One Purpose
Here’s the best part! Your Bloom Box comes with a handmade wooden lid, so when the flowers are gone, your creation doesn’t have to be.
Turn it into a jewelry box, keepsake box, gift box, or a special place to store your favorite little treasures.
