Join us for this workshop where we will hand print cards for the coming holiday season! We will review the basics of block printing, including preparing designs, carving blocks, and exploring color choices, before printing with water-based inks on paper. Our cards will be sized 5.5 x 4.25”, which will fit in standard, invitation-sized envelopes. Instructor will demonstrate all phases of this project as we go, including how to safely use carving tools. You will leave the session with your printed cards and carved blocks. This class is perfect for beginners, as well as those with printmaking experience. All materials, with the exception of envelopes, will be provided by the instructor. We will be using non-toxic, water-based inks and non-latex, 4x6” carving blocks. Please bring
simple sketches or photos of objects to use as reference for your image(s). Printmaking is a messy process, so bring an apron or wear old clothing!
