Join us in the studio for a lovely creative day trying something a little different.In this workshop, Maria Maidment will show you how to use her beautifully carved wooden printing blocks to create your own fabric design. Once your print is complete, you’ll then start adding detail using traditional goldwork techniques — combining print and stitch to create a really unique piece.
The theme is inspired by Celtic designs, with that subtle touch of gold that makes everything feel just a bit special.
You’ll be guided through a range of techniques including passing thread, vermicelli stitch, wire work and the use of spangles. Maria will demonstrate everything step by step, so you don’t need any prior experience.
All materials are provided — fabric, inks and threads — so you can simply come along and enjoy the day.
