In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of carving and printing using a 4" x 6" rubber carving block. You’ll start by choosing or creating a design, transfer it to your block, and learn carving techniques to bring your image to life. Once your block is ready, you’ll learn how to ink, burnish, and test print your design before creating a finished print on the cover of your 5.5" x 8" blank-page journal.
Workshop Includes:
- Choosing a design — sample images will be provided, or you’re welcome to create your own
- Transferring your design to the carving block
- Learning basic carving techniques
- Inking and burnishing techniques
- Creating test prints
- Printing your final design onto your journal
Taking home your finished journal, practice prints, and carved rubber block
No previous carving or printmaking experience is necessary. Come ready to get creative and leave with a unique, handmade journal featuring your own original print!
