About this Event
The Art of Connecting: Exploring Creativity, Community, and Health
What role can creativity play in building healthier, more connected communities?
Social isolation and loneliness are increasingly recognized as significant public health challenges, affecting our physical health, mental well-being, and sense of belonging. Addressing these challenges requires creative thinking about how we build relationships, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for meaningful connection.
Join BLKHLTH and Wellstar for an interactive BLKHLTH Conversation exploring the intersection of art, health, and social connection.
This gathering will bring together healthcare professionals, emerging public health leaders, and local artists to examine the health impacts of social isolation and explore how creative expression can foster connection and belonging.
After a brief conversation about social isolation as a public health issue, participants will join a guided, hands-on arts-based workshop developed by the Foundation for Art & Healing. Through creative activities and shared reflection, participants will experience how art can create opportunities for meaningful connection.
No artistic experience is necessary. Whether you consider yourself an artist or haven’t picked up a paintbrush in years, this experience is designed for everyone.
