All creatures great and small are welcome!Join us at Trinity Anglican Church for our annual Blessing of the Animals, held as a special Choral Evensong (Evening Prayer with a choir) on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Bring your beloved pets—dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and other animal companions—for an afternoon of beautiful music, prayer, and thanksgiving for the animals who share our lives and for the whole wonder of God’s creation. During the service, there will be an opportunity for each animal to receive an individual blessing.
Of course, we know that not every pet is particularly enthusiastic about a trip to church! If it would be safer or less stressful for your animal to stay at home, you are very welcome to bring a photograph of your pet to be blessed instead.
Children are especially welcome and are invited to bring a favourite stuffed animal to receive a blessing too! 🧸
Whether furry, feathered, scaled, stuffed, photographed—or otherwise—all are welcome as we give thanks for the creatures who bring so much joy and companionship into our lives.
