Common Street Spiritual Center is honored to host Blessing Bags for the Homeless in collaboration with organizer Grace Walker for the project's very first in-person fundraiser. Join us for a fun community night that helps neighbors in need stay warm this winter.Four years ago, Blessing Bags started with just 20 backpacks. Last winter, thanks to community support, 100 bags packed with essentials were delivered across 5 cities. This evening will help the mission keep growing.
What to expect
Come hungry. Community members are pitching in to provide pasta with meatballs, macaroni and cheese, and veggie trays, with water, coffee, and tea to go with them. DJ Ashley Yates will bring the grooves and beats. There will also be interactive games and an exciting raffle, with prizes donated by The Hive in downtown Natick and other local businesses and artists.
How you can support
There's no entry fee. Instead, we're asking for cash or Venmo donations (@Grace-Walker-70) and bulk items to fill Blessing Bags for the coming winter. Items we're collecting include new winter hats and gloves, socks, toiletries, feminine products, and snacks.
